We should all own a pair of sustainable pyjamas for every occasion! Wether it be a cosy flannel for a winter night to a light airy pyjama for your island lifestyle. Here on Maui you can definitely use a pyjama for every occasion. There are 24 micro climates on the island. It can even get to be freezing cold if you drive up to the Haleakala crater. I did many hours of research on this subject and found my very favourite brands. Firstly to share them with you but also for ourselves because we spend a third of our life sleeping, should we not be in the most comfortable, organic pyjamas one can get their hands on? We sure think so. Hope you like our selection!

I discovered this brand as I was hunting for an awesome pyjama for Iñaki. He is really one of those traditional Pj wearers. He wears his pj’s on a daily basis and his criteria is pretty high. When discovering Sudara I knew I came to the right place. As soon as his arrived I was so impressed.

I also loved knowing I supporting women in India with my purchase. You can really see and feel these pieces are made with love and a very specific attention to detail. Such a great find for toddler pyjamas, all the way up to age 12. It is not that easy to find a brand that uses organic cotton for our little ones sleepwear. Mightly has far more than just sustainable pyjamas. Hoodies, dresses, comfy durable clothes, for kids that love to get dirty and play. This company is ran by two fantastic moms and one of their daughters Eloise. They are all about transparency, sustainability, durability and just the cutest style. We plan on being customers for many years to come!

We have been an extreme fan of this brand ever since our little one was born! We named them the ¨Softes Pyjamas Ever¨ clic on the link to read the whole post. Another family run business that uses the sustainable fabric bamboo. Since we discovered the brand they now also make super cozy pyjamas for adults and the most incredible blankets. It always feel great to set yourself up with goals to do yoga or any type of exercise, especially when a new year is starting. Why not make this upcoming year about committing to that time for yourself. Be it yoga, stretching or any type of workout. Inner Wave s Organics

The importance of wearing organic cotton on my skin when I exercise and sweat is something that I truly value. We are so excited to introduce you to this brand. We partnered up with them to do a photoshoot for their new line and can call ourselves proud ambassadors. Between the two of us we pretty much wear them almost every day. The clothes are really well made, comfortable and fashionable. I also want to mention how well made they are that after washing them over and over again they do not loose their quality. My absolute go to for work out clothes.

Ajna Wellbeing

I myself have always felt guilty when buying a yoga mat because in the end I know how much I use it and how it wears down and then I have to buy another. Which of course is normal if you are practicing on it and working up a sweat. When I found Ajna Wellbeing I was so excited because it is a beautifully made mat but also 100% biodegradable. That really means the world to me. So when we are done and they are worn we will bury them under the ground with our compost and give back to nature what it has let us use! Not only do they have these beautiful mats but we also love their bolster and meditation cushions! Each bolster is hand stitched from recycled materials and really inspires one to do your practice at home. We really believe that it is so important to start a meditation practice now more than ever and it does really make a difference if you can be in a comfortable sitting position for longer periods of time.

The Mats are also reversible for two different types of grip and come in several colours. We are so happy with our mats and even more happy that most of Iñakis students that see and feel the mat are buying it too. And we only have been getting good feedback!

Underwear is so close to our bodies for such long periods, every single day. I have come to learn of the importance of natural breathable fabrics, touching our most intimate parts.

You cannot even imagine how many toxins are in regular underwear, half of them I cannot even pronounce, and then we wonder why we get yeast infections and the likes. I have to be honest this is my first time purchasing Hemp underwear, I am super impressed. Absolutely love this brand. Hemp is far more breathable than other fabrics, which is kind of nice when it comes to your underwear. I also like the feel of the fabric, it seems quite durable but also soft.

I have only tried the bikini cut, thus far, but I already know I am going to invest in a multi pack. Also Iñaki has already asked for another pair so I guess he really likes them too! I have been buying things from Pact for a while now. Actually I am not sure you can get these prints anymore as they are a little older but still holding up wonderfully! Not only do they have really comfy organic underwear they are also produced at a fair-trade facility. They also have really cozy lounge wear. If you are a mama, well they have cute things for kids too. What is most rewarding about this brand is that they are super affordable, high quality and often have really great sale opportunities. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Organic Basics

Organic Basics is focused on sustainability from start to finish even their web site is low impact. I really like this bra. It feels supportive yet comfortable and it is made from another great fabric called Tencel. An eco-friendly, sustainable fabric made from wood pulp. It is a biodegradable fibre that is softer and lighter than cotton and more breathable it almost feels like silk. It fairs well after washing it and has a really snug fit.

They also have wonderful organic cotton options as well as recycled merino wool accessories. I personally like to use my Tencel undies for when I exercise. As the fabric is really great at absorbing moisture. I highly recommend you try it if you like to exercise.

Knickey

For your every day super comfy underwear Knickey is the place. Certified organic, breathable, simple and you can even try all the different styles in their awesome starter set. This brand is more than affordable for anyone and they have every style you could want or need. I personally tried the high rise, ever since having a baby I like to cover my stomach. It makes me feel snug…. but I do want to try the mid rise and some of their fun colours.

I definitely recommend this very simple perfect addition to your underwear drawer. Another top benefit, is that you can recycle your old undies with them. When it comes to underwear I absolutely cannot leave out one of my most beloved fabrics: Bamboo! Hara delivers just that, beautiful designs with absolute ultra comfort. This fabric is beyond soft, to tell you the truth it is another must have. I love wearing this fabric when I am lounging at home or cuddling with my hubby watching a movie. I love the way it feels against my skin and I got the cutest powder blue bralette, undies and t-shirt.

Here in Hawaii I can literally hang out in these all day, all year long. The bra I got is definitely for smaller bust sizes but they also have sturdier options for bigger busts. Yet again I chose the high rise (it’s my thing right now) makes me feel like a 50’s starlet.

I am not a big fan of a full pyjama… so this is definitely my go to sleep wear…. just feels so nice in my bamboo sheets. Also I can throw the t-shirt on over a pair of leggings and go about my day. I really love the weight of bamboo, it is slightly heavier than cotton and just always hangs nicely on the body. Trust me and try it you will definitely not be disappointed. I have worn this suit for a few months now and it is of excellent quality. I have used it for a normal day at the beach to deep diving with it to surfing. It is really well made and for surfing it is perfect as everything stays in its place and I can focus on ths sport as opposed to fiddling around with my bikini. I absolutely love the shape of this bikini and the back is just beautiful.

We are so thrilled to introduce you to this brand…. Hawaii’s first biodegradable swimsuit brand. Yes, you heard right! A swimsuit that biodegrades in the landfill to 0 when you discard it. That is truly zero waste. Thank you for introducing the world to this amazing fabric with such style and elegance! Actually there are less than a handful of brands using this incredible fabric in the USA today. We are so thrilled to be some of the first to experiment with this fabric. It is beyond soft and fairs really well in the water. I surfed in both of the suits and it felt great! We met Shelby (founder) through social media pretty recently and are so impressed with this hard working Mama’s repetoire. Hand dyed unique pieces, made right here on Maui… we look forward to watching this brand sky rocket into the world and hope to be collaborating with her for years to come. This local brand has reef safe sun screen, that spreads really evenly on the skin and does not leave any white residue. I also absolutely love their lip balm, and biodegradable deodorant. Erin the founder has taken her brand to the next level, even some of her packaging is biodegradable. Definitely an inspiring local brand we should be supporting.

Sail Bags Maui

This young mother of three had an idea and made it a reality. Creating beautifully crafted bags. Their mission is to save as many kitesurfing fabrics as possible from ending up in landfills. The bags are super durable and water resistant. They are fun colours and are a really innovative way of up cycling kite sails. You can also donate your old kite to them! @sailbags_maui

For me personally comfort is key, and it is really nice to have a few items that just make you feel that little extra special when you wear them. With Ti and Coco you can be elegant or casual and enjoy these pieces for special occasions or as I am finding on a daily basis. I can only say it is exactly as the name describes it, blue bottle love. The bottle is absolutely gorgeous and imprints love onto every sip you drink from it. After extensive research my favourite water is taken from a natural spring, filtered through our Berkey system and then last but not least placed into our beautiful cobalt bottles! This makes the most delicious water you could ever drink.

Mamanu Kids

We highly recommend the many beautiful hats of Mamanu, they are mostly reversible which we also really love….. We discovered them a little over a year ago and still Atlantis loves wearing his shirts and sun hats. The prints are dreamy and the fabric is sturdy yet soft to the touch. And everytime he wears them someone comments on how lovely he looks…

Eco-Friendly Bedding

If you stop and think about the fact that you spend almost a whole third of your life in Bed ….Do you not deserve to be lying in what is the best bed and bedding ever?

We believe it is essential to sleep with comfortable and healthy, organic bedding and our always on the lookout for brands that are aligned with nature! Lana Care has introduced us to a fibre we knew nothing about. Kapok (Ceiba) fabric, it is super cozy and it’s function is very innovative. Kapok fiber is harvested from the fluffy fiber surrounding the seeds of the tropical kapok tree. One of the things I personally like is that the Ceiba plant is like horses hair, hollow on the inside, which makes it breathable. It wicks moisture away throughout the night. Which is incredibly important as we all sweat at night. It is also referred to as the lightest fibre in the world. It is extra fluffy and comfy.

We are thrilled with Kapok (Ceiba) through and want to thank our friends over at Lana Care for sending us the lovely duvet…. It feels like silk!
